Accomplishments

Pistol’s show career started with a bang!  From the puppy class, Pistol was awarded a four point major his first time in the ring.  Pistol’s second appearance in the ring was even more impressive, as he was awarded another major, Best of Breed over specials and a Hound Group Placement from the puppy class.
Pistol completed his championship in only twelve shows and then began his specials career with Co-Owner Tim Huff.  Tim and Pistol make a great team and they shared a wonderful year in 2004, finishing in the Top 10.
In 2004, Pistol sired his first litter, out of Ch. Sukari-Jasiri Soda Pup (Shasta). One of the girls in this litter, Jasiri-Sukari's Congo-Leeza Rice, is already off to a great start of her show career, and was awarded Winners Bitch, Best Of Winners, Best Opposite Sex, and Best Bred-By Exhibitor in show at the 2005 Basenji Club of America National Specialty! Two of Leeza's littermates also did well at the National: Jasiri-Sukari Pup Music (9-12 Sweepstakes class winner) and Jasiri-Sukari Vermillion (9-12 Regular class winner).
In 2005, Pistol continued to do well, winning Best In Specialty Show (BISS) at the Cincinnati Basenji Club show. Pistol finished 2005 as the #4 Basenji in the United States, winning multiple Hound Groups. Our thanks and congratulations to Pistol's co-owner, Tim Huff, for making this possible, and also to good friend, Kathy Caton, for guiding Tim and showing Pistol when Tim isn't able to be there!
In 2006, Pistol won Best of Breed at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club show, defeating some of the country's top-ranked basenjis! Our sincere thanks to Mrs. Dorothy Hutchinson for recognizing Pistol's many outstanding attributes by awarding him this win. Congratulations and thanks to Pistol's co-owner, Tim Huff, for showing Pistol to this great win.
Pistol's track record has continued through the first half of 2006. Pistol and co-owner/friend, Tim Huff had a fantastic April, winning five Groups!

In May 2006, Pistol and Tim again won back-to-back Best In Specialty Shows (BISS) at the Cincinnati Basenji Club. Pistol is currently ranked the #1 Basenji in the United States.

We are quite proud of both Pistol and Tim, and are very excited about the rest of 2006! Way to go, Tim and Pistol!
