The
Meisterhaus story began back in 1978 with Alaskan
Malamutes from one of the top breeders in the US.
Tad showed in Junior Showmanship and finished several
Malamutes and Shih Tzu’s. Along the way he has shown
Pekinese, Yorkshire Terriers, and Brussels Griffons of
some of the most well-known breeders in the US.
In addition to the fore mentioned, Tad has shown many
other working, toy, non-sporting and hound breeds over
his many years in the sport of dogs.
Tad
left the sport of purebred dogs to attend college and
begin his career in 1989 as a business owner. When the
decision was made to start breeding and showing again,
Tad chose Rottweilers. He was fortunate enough to meet
many wonderful breeders and garner great success in the
Rottweiler breed.
During those years in Rottweilers, he found two other
breeds that he would later become deeply involved in and
enjoy for many years to come. Those two breeds are Basenjis
and Whippets.
In
2001, Tad and Joseph met and though Joseph is not as
visible in the show ring, he enjoys caring for and
loving our family of canines. Their happiness and love
carry through to each and every puppy produced at
Meisterhaus.
Over the years, Meisterhaus has bred top winning and top
producing Basenjis
and Whippets in
US, Japan and other countries throughout the world.
Our goal is to produce sound animals that are
competitive in the ring, on the field and also to be the
very best family companions.
